Default laaging when i zone

well, ever since i got factions its done nothing but laag and/or take like 2-3mins to load a town, outpost or area, after its loaded i laag like hell for say 30 secs and then im fine, but it'l start to laag again when i walk but not as bad as when i zone, now after awhile im fine no-lag but then a fight begins and i laag like hell again for like 10 secs and then im fine this is only on factions as prophicies works fine for me , what i dont under stand is that they have the same minimum specs yet factions runs slow for me

this is my specs, not much ram i know..

intel(r)
celeron(R) CPU 2.66GHZ
2.67GHz 256 mb of ram

i guess my question is why do i laag on factions and not prophicies, and should i buy i new gfx card with more ram and will that fix my problem?

This is a more detailed post on ways to clean up lag within your computer:http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3007350

I would say this lag is computer-based rather than lag across a network. Personally, I freed up some space on my C-drive (recommended in that thread is 3 GB I believe) and that helped some. There are other recommendations therein for at least a first step.

I'm not an expert on graphics cards, but as far as I know, what you have should be able to play it easily. I had the same problem, too, and found that simply closing some background programs helped (I have the same RAM, too, and way less CPU... 1.1Ghz, plus an only 64mb gfx).
